Fernando Bernall

Fernando Bernall is an athlete with a lifelong training history dating back to his early days in his native Colombia where he played Bola ‘e Trapo, a style of soccer played barefoot with a ball made from cloth, to today’s undertaking of Russian Kettlebells. He has played semi-professional soccer, ran two Chicago marathons and has over 30 years in the martial arts. He is a three time Gold medalist in Tai Chi push-hands competitions at both national and international level and holds a black belt in Korean Hap-Ki-Do.

Fernando is not your ordinary trainer. His idea of a fit body transcends the standards within the fitness industry.  His work is extensively influenced by his understanding of Chinese medicine and acupuncture where the body is viewed as a network of energy pathways running within all connective tissue including the fascia and viscera. In essence, then, Fernando is a holistic trainer. He draws from his knowledge of Eastern disciplines and from his current understanding of exercise physiology, strength training, sports nutrition and herbology, to formulate specific training methods geared to fit the needs of each client.

Fernando is a Board Certified and licensed Acupuncture Physician and practices at Synergy Methods; a certified personal trainer and certified Kettlebell instructor. He is the creator of the SpiralFlow™ Method of Joint Mobiltiy, and DaoNamics™ a bodyweight training system which he teaches at The Movement Center. He is available for seminars and private instruction.
